Dr Anil Saxena is an acknowledged expert in Cardiac
Pacing and Electrophysiology including catheter RF ablation
of complex arrhythmias, ICD implantation and biventricular
pacing. He is currently Associate Director of Cardiac
Pacing and Electrophysiology, Escorts Heart Institute
& Research Centre, New Delhi
Since joining Escorts Heart Institute in 1989, Dr Saxena
has been actively involved in setting up the department
of Cardiac Electrophysiology. He is one of the pioneers
in implantation of ICD and biventricular pacemakers
in the country, and has one of the largest experience
in this field. He has been performing Electrophysiological
studies and 'Radio Frequency Catheter Ablation' for
various Cardiac Arrhythmias for over 14 years, with
thousands of successful procedures to his credit.
Dr Saxena completed his MBBS and MD from GVSM Medical
College, Kanpur and while working at EHIRC he got selected
for Diplomate of National Board of Examinations (Cardiology)
which comprises of rigorous training in all disciplines
of cardiology, including non-invasive, invasive and
pediatric cardiology. After completing his cardiology
board, he has also received training in Cardiac Electrophysiology
at St Luke's Hospital, Milwaukee, USA.
Dr Saxena is a founder member of executive committee
of Indian Heart Rhythm Society and is also a member
of the editorial board of Indian Pacing and Electrophysiology
Journal. Dr Saxena has about 30 research projects to
his credit and has been invited as a guest faculty to
various national and international symposia and workshops.
He has also been actively involved in community outreach
programmes initiated by EHIRC.
