Dr. Mohan Nair did his graduation and post- graduation in Medicine from the premier Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi. He obtained his post- doctoral degree in cardiology (DM) from G B Pant Hospital, University of Delhi. Thereafter, he trained in clinical cardiac electrophysiology from the University of Rouen, France. Dr. Nair joined the faculty in the department of cardiology at the GB Pant hospital, in 1990, and was elevated to the post of professor in 1999.

Dr. Nair's areas of special interest have been Interventional Cardiology and Electrophysiology. Having an experience of over 7000 procedures in each of these fields, he is a leading specialist in these areas in the country. Prof. Nair is Internationally recognized for his contribution to cardiac Electrophysiology and Interventional cardiology, and has performed live demonstration procedures at physician training courses in several important centers in India , China, Srilanka, Japan and France. He is a visiting faculty of cardiology at the University of Rouen, France and Visiting Professor of Cardiology, Christian Medical College, Ludhiana. He has several research publications in most prestigious medical journals, including several in Circulation, the top cardiology journal in the world. He is on the panel of manuscript reviewers for The American Journal of Cardiology. For his contribution to cardiology, particularly in the area of treatment of cardiac rhythm disorders, Dr. Nair has been conferred awards and orations by the Cardiological Society of India, Association of Physician's of India, The Delhi Medical Association, The Srilankan Heart Association and the Ceylon Association of Physicians.
